Proud of My Girls

I have an ever-increasing team entering the Starlight Walk on May 22nd to help raise money for The Peace Hospice in Watford. The hospice cares for people living with a life limiting or terminal illness and supports their families from across South West Hertfordshire. The Starlight Walk is a ladies only event in which 2,000 women will walk a half marathon. I threw down the gauntlet to the Imagine females who had been looking to do something for a local charity.
 
To their credit they’ve taken up the idea with great enthusiasm and so far we have six of them entered. This number seems to be ever increasing as they get their friends involved. The 13-mile distance hasn’t apparently frightened them, nor has the fact it’s starting at midnight. The boys will be doing their bit as they’ll be putting themselves forward as stewards on the night to ensure that they’ve shown their support to the girls and made their own contribution to the event. I suspect they haven’t realised yet that the girls will be expecting them to put their hands in their pockets to sponsor them too!
 
Speaking of sponsorship, Imagine are sponsoring £50 for each entrant who walks with our group, which should get the fundraising off to a decent start.
