I think we’re pretty advanced in terms of marketing for the C21st. We have a Twitter page, a Facebook Fan page and Imagine TV, which I’m pleased to say has been getting some really positive feedback from all sorts of places.
I’ve been asked why I bother going to the trouble of setting all this stuff up, which obviously takes a fair bit of time and expense to do properly. Recent research highlighted the following statistics, which will explain why.
• A staggering 30% - 40% of ALL Internet traffic is now on Social Networking Sites.
• The average hits on an estate agency website (including all the multiple branch companies) is 3,907 per month. Imagine get over 7,000 with just two branches.
• The average bounce rate on estate agent sites (this is the people visiting a web page and moving away without looking at any other pages) is 37.9%. Imagine’s is just 20%.
• The average time spent on an agent’s site per visit is 3 minutes and 23 seconds. Imagine’s is 4 minutes and 10 seconds currently.
By producing a website that people enjoy, that is individual, entertaining while still professional, and holds the visitor’s interest, we are increasing the exposure for all our landlords and homeowners. Failing to tap into this marketplace would be doing them a disservice. By being the first agent in the area to have embraced this Social Media environment, we’re able to promote ourselves as having genuinely unique selling points.
The links for Facebook and Twitter are on our home page (link to home page!) and you’ll also be able to see our innovative Imagine TV. When you become a fan on our Facebook page or follow us on Twitter, as well as local information, you’ll also be kept up-to-date with all the property industry news that we have at our fingertips!
